Seven years after my last novel - The Knives in 2016 - I'm so pleased to share with you what has been consuming me in the interim... which is the story of the hunt across two decades to discover oil in the North Sea, the dramas of which are the substance of this new fiction of mine, The Black Eden, forthcoming from Faber.
